Biography and photos

Alice Turner is a song accompanist, vocal coach and repetiteur, specialising in art song and German, Italian and French language training.

She lives in London, where she is a repetiteur for the opera department at the Royal College of Music. As a repetiteur she has worked for English National Opera – Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten), La Boheme (Puccini), Lucrezia Borgia (Donizetti), Simon Boccanegra (Verdi), The Mikado (Gilbert and Sullivan), premiere of Two Boys (Nico Muhly) – and Longborough Festival Opera – Katya Kabanova (Janacek) and La Boheme (2013 season). As a music director she directed the UK premiere of Jake Heggie’s For a Look or a Touch (London, 2011).

A student of Rudolf Jansen in Amsterdam, Alice has won numerous awards for piano accompaniment, and is a Samling Scholar and resident staff accompanist at Oxenfoord International Summer School.

She performs regularly across the UK, including recent concerts at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Sage in Gateshead, St James, Piccadilly, St Martin in the Fields and Christ Church, Spitalfields, in London and recitals with principal singers of Welsh National Opera at the Welsh Millennium Centre, Cardiff, and in Doha, Qatar.
